I've always wanted a meaningful job, and that's what I found at KidsCentre! I've had a passion for early childhood education and have four years of experience. I'm working on obtaining my CDA and furthering my education to become an elementary school teacher. I took a break to be a stay-at-home mom to my two sweet little boys, and I am so excited to get back into doing what I love. I like to spend time outside, craft, read, and play with my sons.

I attended California State University.  My favorite part of working at KidsCentre is witnessing the relationships the children form with each other. My sister was working at KidsCentre, and she described the position to me. I thought this seemed like a great place to work, and the rest is history!  In my spare time, I love to watch movies, read (especially Harry Potter), travel and garden. Favorite Children's Book: 'I Capture the Castle' by Dodie Smith

I graduated UW in 2010 with a double degree in International Studies and Communications, however after graduating I spent a year abroad teaching ESL in Hangzhou, China and have been in education ever since! Following my year in China I moved to New York where eventually I spent seven years at an international boarding school – first as a dorm parent – and later as an English teacher and administrator. During those seven years I received my MA in Education Leadership at the University of Connecticut. I have taught elementary, middle, and high school aged students a variety of subjects (mostly English and Social Studies) and enjoy helping children develop and succeed – truly, few things in life are equally rewarding to the experience of seeing a child grow, learn, and exceed even their own expectations.

I have lived all over the world but Seattle will always be home. No matter where I lived growing up, Seattle was the city my family always eventually returned to. I love being out on the water and jump at any chance to spend a day at the beach or on a boat! Other hobbies include reading, writing, paddle boarding, and traveling.

Children are amazing, funny, precocious, and most of all – the best of us. They have all the potential in the world and it has been an honor of mine to get to know so many amazing kids over the course of my career. I am absolutely ecstatic that my new role at KidsCentre Inc. will allow me to get to know all of our kids and families as I will be in and out of both centers consistently. I can’t wait to meet you all!
